Overview

Acu-Loc Extra-Articular (EX) Plates

The Aculoc EX plate is made to sit along the flat metaphyseal portion of the distal radius and sits more proximally than the standard Acu-Loc Volar Distal Radius Plate.

Approved Indications

  • Extra-articular fractures.
  • Corrective osteotomy.
  • “Flat” radius
Key Features

Key Features

  • Precise screw placement: The distal locking screws are angled distally to support the dorsal lip of the radius, maximizing purchase in the subchondral bone.
  • Anatomic plate design: Anatomically contoured Acu-Loc EX plates accommodate the anatomical fluctuations of both left and right volar radii — which differ from patient to patient — and assist in restoring the geometry of the patient’s anatomy. The plate sits along the flat metaphyseal portion of the distal radius and is more proximal than the standard Acu-Loc Volar Distal Radius Plate.
  • Minimal irritation: Soft tissue irritation and hardware prominence are reduced by the plate’s positioning, low-profile design and screw interface.
  • Advanced radiolucent targeting guide: Acumed’s low-profile guide allows the surgeon to accurately target each of the distal screws. Drilling, measuring and inserting the screw through the guide saves valuable OR time.
