Acumed’s Acu-Loc Volar Distal Ulna (VDU) Plates are designed for periarticular fractures of the distal ulna. Plate positioning and screw angulation targets distal fragments to provide secure, stable fracture fixation.

  • Anatomic plate design: The system’s contoured left and right-specific plate options — in long and standard lengths — match the anatomical curvature of the distal ulna and assist in restoring the original geometry of the distal ulna. The plate sits proximal to the DRUJ and does not impinge pronation or supination.
  • Precise screw placement: The distal locking screws converge into the ulnar head, targeting the best subchondral bone to maximize stability. Unicortical proximal locking screws provide stability and eliminate soft tissue impingement on the distal ulna’s volar surface.
  • Advanced instrumentation: Acumed’s comprehensive instrument set includes all tools needed to implant the plate. The Threaded Drill Guide ensures the distal screws are properly inserted and seated below the plate surface.
