Overview
Calcaneal Plating System - Featuring MINI-Calc
The Acumed Calcaneal Plating System delivers a new level of performance, versatility, and reliability for calcaneal fractures, one of the most challenging injuries to treat. Developed in conjunction with Greg A. Horton, M.D. and Steven A. Herbst, M.D., Acumed Calcaneal Plates feature a unique, minimally invasive approach with less chance of wound complications than the current standard of treatment.1 In addition, the low profile design minimizes soft tissue irritation, while still providing a durable construct.
Comprised of several MINI-Calc(Minimally Invasive Calcaneal Plates) and lateral wall plates, the Acumed Locking Calcaneal Plating System meets a variety of procedural needs and may be used in conjunction with the Acumed Lower Extremity Modular System.

Key Features
- Approach-Specific Design. Explicitly designed to be implanted through a sinus tarsi incision. In addition to a potentially lower complication rate, the minimal 5.0 cm incision provides direct visibility of the subtalar articular surface, which can assist in the anatomic reduction of the fracture.
- Fragment-Specific Options. Whether comminution is located in the anterior process, through the posterior facet, in the posterior tuberosity, or any other combination, the variety of plating options available in the Acumed Calcaneal Plating System can treat a wide range of fracture patterns.
- Low-Profile. At only 1.25 mm thick (.050"), the low-profile Locking Calcaneal Plates minimizes the possibility of soft tissue irritation.
Approved Indications
- Calcaneal Fractures
