Acumed Surgical Bioskills Course
Aug. 23, 2018 to Aug. 24, 2018
Portland, Oregon

This two day course focuses on the current challenges orthopaedic surgeons face. Our esteemed faculty will provide didactic presentations accompanied with hands-on surgical-based training focusing on complex extremity fracture solutions.

Hand and Wrist Session: Participants will learn the latest in the treatment options for the hand and wrist. Presenters will cover complex hand fractures and fracture/dislocations of the PIP joint. Additionally, the course will cover treatment methods of complex distal radius fractures, providing an alternative to volar plating.

Elbow Session: Participants will learn about treatment options for radial head repair from basic fixation to arthroplasty. Additionally, this section provides the principle-based approach to distal humerus fixation and features treatment methods for olecranon and coronoid fractures.

Shoulder Session: Participants will learn the challenges and complications of complex fractures for the shoulder. Our faculty will share their experience in comparing plate and rod fixation treatment methods applied to the clavicle and proximal humerus.

Workshop Sessions: Participants will gain practical hands-on experience with a cadaver covering suggested treatment options for these challenging indications:

  • Hand Fractures
  • Scaphoid Fractures
  • Radial Head Fractures
  • Elbow Stiffens
  • Clavicle Fractures
  • Proximal & Distal Humerus Fractures
