Overview
Locking Scapula Plate System
Acumed’s innovative Locking Scapula Plates provide excellent fixation for acute fractures, malunions and nonunions of the scapula — and help restore functional normalcy to patients who have sustained displaced scapular fractures.
Anatomic constraints — particularly the scapula’s limited osseous anatomy, curved posterior surface and unique dimensions — make internal fixation of scapula fractures technically challenging.
Designed in conjunction with William B. Geissler M.D., Acumed’s low-profile, indication-specific plates comprise the only system on the market specifically designed for the scapula. Our plates are precontoured to match the patient’s anatomy — and to reduce valuable OR time.

Key Features
Key Features
- Anatomic contour: The indication-specific plates are precontoured to target the best quality of scapular bone, accommodate common fractures and act as templates to reduce the fracture and help restore the functional angle of the shoulder joint.
- Multiple plate options: ten plates — five per side — address the most prevalent scapula fractures. Acumed’s system includes lateral border, spine, intra-articular glenoid and medial border plates.
- Minimal irritation: The low-profile plate minimizes soft tissue irritation and aids patient rehabilitation.
