Social Responsibility

The culture of Acumed places emphasis on ethical business practices, stewardship of resources and support for local and global humanitarian efforts. Our formal commitment to social responsibility reaffirms these values in a tangible manner. In 2010, Acumed founded an internal cross-functional Social Responsibility Committee to ensure activities throughout Acumed have the support and resources needed to achieve positive results. Our first major milestone was the identification of core focus areas to coordinate efforts and drive towards measurable goals.

Our core focus areas are Environment, Governance, Wellness and Community Impact. These subjects were chosen for their close alignment with our vision and because so many of our activities exist to effect positive change in these areas. The efforts discussed here are a small sample of the initiatives taking place at Acumed every day.

Environment

Eco-friendly landscaping, weather-smart irrigation controls and our efforts to create and maintain a healthy environment both inside and outside our facilities are evidence of our green initiatives.

Governance

The ongoing success of Acumed is reliant upon our employees conducting business with integrity in full compliance with regulations, legislation, and our own corporate operating policies and procedures.

Wellness

Acumed believes in complete wellness; physical, emotional, intellectual, and social well being. By encouraging health and happiness, we empower employees to make positive choices at work and at home.

Community Impact

We seek to have a positive community impact through our support and contributions to organizations such as the Oregon Food Bank, SIGN Fracture Care International, and disaster relief efforts worldwide.
