A trimalleolar injury is a fracture of the ankle that involves the lateral malleolus, the medial malleolus, and the posterior malleolus. This complex injury can be difficult to treat appropriately. In this video, Dr. Ortiz speaks to the anatomy of the foot and ankle and shows how to properly plate a trimalleolar injury using the Posterolateral Fibula Plate, Posterolateral Distal Tibia Plate, and the Posteromedial Distal Tibia Plate.
