DESCRIPTION:Course Overview\nThe course begins with a welcome dinner on Friday\, followed by a full day of programming on Saturday featuring in-depth case discussions and cadaveric lab time covering Acumed’s hand and wrist portfolio. Our expert faculty will guide attendees through diagnosis\, planning\, and execution of cases in both lecture and lab settings\, while also sharing their experience building a practice after fellowship and the challenges they faced during that transition. \nAttendance is by invitation only. \nTarget Audience\nHand & Wrist Fellows and Plastics Fellows \nChair\n\nJoseph Styron\, MD (Cleveland Clinic) – Dr. Styron currently practices at Cleveland Clinic in Cleveland\, Ohio. After completing his Orthopedic Surgery Residency at Cleveland Clinic Foundation\, Dr. Styron pursued two fellowships in Hand and Upper Extremity Surgery at the University of Pittsburgh and Congenital & Pediatric Hand Surgery at Shriners Hospital in Philadelphia. His specialty interests include surgery of the hand\, wrist\, elbow\, and shoulder\, and he has specialized training in nerve and tendon transfers in infants and children.\n\nFaculty\n\nRoy Cardoso\, MD\, FACS (Baptist Health\, Miami\, FL) – Dr. Cardoso is an orthopedic surgeon specializing in hand and upper extremity conditions at Baptist Health Orthopedic Care. He completed his orthopedic surgery residency at the University of California\, Davis\, followed by a hand and upper extremity fellowship at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center. His clinical interests include surgery of the hand\, wrist\, and elbow\, with expertise in complex fractures\, elbow arthroscopy\, and upper extremity reconstruction\, including sports‑related injuries. He serves as a clinical assistant professor at Florida International University\, where he teaches across hand surgery and sports medicine training programs. Dr. Cardoso lectures nationally and internationally\, contributes to clinical and basic science research\, and remains committed to global medical outreach.\nNathan Lesley\, MD (The Hand to Shoulder Center) – Dr. Lesley is an orthopedic surgeon specializing in hand\, wrist\, and elbow. Certified by the American Board of Orthopedic Surgeons in 2013\, he received an additional subspecialty certification in Surgery of the Hand in 2015. He trained at JPS in Ft. Worth and completed his Fellowship at Brown University. He is the founder and CEO of The Hand to Shoulder Center in Fort Worth\, TX\, and co-founder of BetterWay Medical Group. Dr. Lesley has been listed as a “Fort Worth Magazine’s Top Doctor” annually from 2015-2026.\nNathan Morrell\, MD\, FAOA (University of New Mexico) – Dr. Morrell is an Associate Professor of Orthopedic Surgery and Director of the Hand Surgery Fellowship at the University of New Mexico. He earned his MD from Stanford University\, completed orthopedic residency at UNM\, and fellowship training in Hand\, Upper Extremity\, and Microvascular Surgery at Brown University. He serves as the Hand Fellowship Program Director. He is New Mexico’s only brachial plexus surgeon and the only surgeon in the state performing total wrist and thumb joint replacements. He also provides microsurgical replantation services.\nTyler Pidgeon\, MD (Durham\, NC) – Dr. Pidgeon is an orthopedic surgeon specializing in hand\, wrist\, elbow\, and microvascular surgery at Duke Health. He earned his MD from Tufts University School of Medicine and completed his orthopedic surgery residency and orthopedic trauma fellowship at Brown University/Rhode Island Hospital\, followed by a fellowship in hand\, upper extremity\, and microvascular surgery at Duke University Hospital. SUMMARY:Resident Craniomaxillofacial Trauma Cadaver Course
DESCRIPTION:Course Overview\nJoin us for a one-day course\, led by Dr. Herford\, focusing on Craniomaxillofacial Trauma\, where he will dive into essential techniques\, present practical case studies and highlight surgical tools such as Acumed Digital Surgical planning. Topics will include incisions and approaches\, as well as the management of complex facial fractures and reconstructive techniques. Comprehensive didactic sessions will be complimented by hands-on lab cadaveric lab dissections. This course is designed to strengthen participants’ foundational knowledge and clinical skills in CMF trauma procedures. \nRound-trip airfare and hotel accommodations for the evening prior to the course (10/23) will be provided for participating residents.
