Hjalmar Pompe van Meerdervoort

President

Hjalmar joined Acumed in 2022, bringing over 25 years of global leadership experience in the medical device industry. Most recently, he was Senior Vice President and General Manager, Reconstruction at Smith+Nephew where he led the commercial functions for Smith+Nephew’s reconstructive joint portfolio. Prior to Smith+Nephew, Hjalmar served as cofounder and CEO of VisionScope Technologies, an office-based arthroscopic imaging company. He was also Vice President and General Manager, Knees, at Zimmer Holdings, where he managed the company’s $2 billion flagship segment. He spent more than 10 years of his early career at Stryker Corporation growing his responsibility and reach to include international assignments. Hjalmar is a graduate of the Harvard Business School Executive Education program with an undergraduate degree from Emory University. Throughout his career, Hjalmar has been driven by a passion to help heal the afflicted and lead teams to deliver solutions that optimize patient outcomes and streamline care delivery.

Lee Brown

Vice President, Global Sales

Lee joined Acumed in 2018, bringing over 18 years of orthopaedic implant sales and distributor management experience specializing in spine, hip, knee, sports medicine, trauma, and extremities. He held multiple sales roles in the UK with DePuy, Zimmer, and JRI before moving into International Sales Management with Summit Medical, where he successfully launched and managed a direct sales operation in Australia. Lee is responsible for sales in all international markets outside of Europe where Acumed products are sold.

Jimmy Blanchard

Vice President, US Sales

Jimmy joined Acumed in 2022, bringing over 18 years of orthopaedic industry experience specializing in sports medicine, trauma, extremities and plastics. He’s held multiple sales Leadership and general management positions in the US with Stryker, Covidien, and most recently RTI Surgical where he primarily focused on go to market strategy and sales channel optimization. Jimmy earned his bachelors degree in health from Portland State University.

David Ellison

Vice President, US Operations

David embarked on his journey with Acumed in 2021, bringing with him over 25 years of distinguished leadership experience in manufacturing operations and engineering. His career spans multiple industries, including industrial and commercial products, before he found his calling in medical device manufacturing. Before joining Acumed, David held leadership roles at Becton Dickinson and Arthrex in both operations and advanced engineering. His unwavering passion for manufacturing excellence drives him to lead teams that deliver tangible products, ultimately helping to heal those in need. David is a graduate of the Georgia Institute of Technology with a Bachelors of Mechanical Engineering.

Ed Gil

Vice President, Global Marketing and Education

Ed joined Acumed in 2023, bringing over 24 years of global leadership experience in medical device distribution, orthopedics and enabling technologies. Prior to joining Acumed, Ed led the global marketing function for the Joint Replacement division of Stryker where he led the Hip, Knee, Oncology and Mako Hip Application marketing groups. He spent the early part of his career at Cardinal Health, CareFusion and Medical Action growing his commercial and marketing responsibilities. Ed is a graduate of the Global Leadership Program at Harvard Business School, holds an MBA in Marketing and earned a bachelor’s degree in industrial & organizational psychology from Fairleigh Dickinson University.

Kathryn Jayne

Vice President, Quality Assurance & Regulatory Affairs

Kathryn joined OsteoMed in 2015, bringing nearly 25 years of experience in medical device quality assurance and regulatory affairs for various medical device manufacturing companies. Kathryn graduated from Oklahoma Baptist University with a bachelor’s degree in kinesiology and physiology.

Chris Oswalt

Vice President, Commercial Excellence

Chris joined Acumed in 2022, bringing more than 21 years of experience in sales and marketing, and enhancing automation and analytics with revenue operations. Most recently, Chris worked at Smith+Nephew as Head of Commercial Excellence, where he created and led teams to address field operations, commercial operation analytics, pricing strategies, and incentive compensation. Chris earned a bachelor's degree in business administration from the University of Tennessee Knoxville.

Vice President, Human Resources
Cari joined Acumed in 2025, bringing over 20 years of experience as a Human Resources professional. Prior to joining Acumed, she held roles at Texas Instruments, Apex Tool Group, and Honeywell International, with a focus on strategic business partnering, leadership development, and continuous improvement. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Business Management from Eckerd College and a Master of Arts in Industrial/Organizational Psychology from the University of New Haven.
