Acumed proudly provides funding to support medical education

We believe supporting medical education is one of the most important ways Acumed can assist the healthcare community in providing positive patient outcomes. Acumed is proud to contribute to medical education programs that promote scientific knowledge, medical advancement, and the delivery of efficient healthcare through our educational grant program.

Acumed does not provide grants to individual health care professionals (HCPs) or to HCPs in training and does not provide grants that are earmarked for the benefit of individual HCPs or HCPs in training. Accordingly, Acumed will not consider grant requests earmarked for individual HCPs or HCPs in training.

Acumed educational grants are offered in two general categories - Professional Medical Education grants, and Fellowship grants.

Please note: If interested in requesting funds for a research proposal, please visit our Collaborative Research Opportunities page.

Professional Medical Education Grants

Professional Medical Education Grants provide funding for independent medical educational programs for health care professionals, including congresses, conferences, symposiums, or courses, with or without labs, that are sponsored by professional medical associations, societies, or continuing education providers and academic institution labs. This includes support requested for cadaveric labs intended to educate fellows or residents at an academic institution.

Acumed will not provide Professional Medical Education Grants:

  • Where the circumstances are likely to improperly influence, or appear to improperly influence, medical judgment,
  • Where one purpose is to influence an HCP to purchase, lease, recommend, use, arrange for the purchase or lease of, or prescribe Acumed products,
  • When the funds would be used to defray the HCP requestor’s ordinary operating expenses or overhead,
  • When the funds would be used to directly fund payments for exhibit space, consulting or other services or goods provided to Acumed, Acumed promotional activities or events, or any program where any of the speakers are Acumed employees, or
  • When the funds would be in support of or to offset entertainment or recreational activities

Submission deadline: To be considered, the completed application, including all required supporting documentation, must be received at least 60 days before the scheduled date of the event, activity, or program.

Fellowship Grants

Fellowship grants are available to accredited academic programs. Fellowship Grants support clinical fellowship programs and may be used to subsidize a clinical fellow. Acumed’s intent is to encourage the highest quality academic programs to best advance the medical profession. Applications are reviewed against established objective criteria and not on the use, order, or purchase of any products or services of Acumed. Grant recipient institutions must represent and warrant that the receipt of funds will not affect professional judgment. To manage our budget and to ensure Acumed can fund as many worthwhile programs as possible, we limit the awarding of Fellowship Grants to once per calendar year.

Who Should NOT Use This Application

The Fellowship Grant Application should not be used to request grant funding for:

  • Fellows attending third party educational courses;
  • Funding to offset independent medical educational programs for health care professionals; or
  • Academic institution labs that are part of the fellowship program curriculum.

Above requests should be made through the Professional Medical Education Grant Application.

The Fellowship Grant Application should not be used to request funding towards research proposals. If interested in requesting funds for a research proposal, please visit our Collaborative Research Opportunities page.
